Mamas & Papas Juice Highchair

My lovely Boyfriend bought this highchair for me for Christmas.  I know to some this may seem like a strange gift to receive but my Son was nearly nine months old, and had yet to have a highchair to eat in.  I searched high and low for the perfect highchair that would fit my style, but be practical and affordable.  This highchair I felt fit the bill for just that, practical, and affordable.

POSITIVES - Winston loves this highchair, he seems to be really comfortable and content while sitting in there.  It has a big tray so you can fit a plate and bowl or a cup and plate etc.  He sits in here pretty securely so I really like that. It is very functional as it has several different adjustments, turning it in to a regular children's chair. Lastly it is cute! I love this green color, and I love that the tray is colored along with the green padding.  Winston used to sit in the Mamas & Papas baby snug, and this matches which I thought was pretty cute.

Negatives - This thing is hard to clean.  This could be the case with all high chairs, and I wouldn't know it because I have never used any others.  There are so many little grooves and indents that you don't see easily, that food gets stuck in.  Especially underneath the green padding, there are holes where the seat screws together and in the grooves food builds up, and it is nasty. But it can be done, its just not a quick clean up as I would imagine it might be with other high chairs.  I personally had a tough time assembling this highchair.  It took some major strength to get the leg bits together but other than that it wasn't too bad.

Overall - I give this product a B+ I really enjoy this high chair and so does my little Winston.  It is cute and functional and for that I am a happy camper!

Fisher Price Rock n' Play Sleeper Review

When I was pregnant with my baby boy, I searched high and low for all the things I felt I needed for him and could afford.  I really wanted a swing but never got one (yes I survived a newborn without a swing). I knew I felt uncomfortable putting him in that big old crib with him being oh so little so I wanted to find something affordable and convenient where he could snuggle up close to me without being in the bed.  I so badly wanted one of those awesome co-sleepers that attach to the bed, but our bed lies on the floor and it wouldn't have worked.  So this is what I came up with, despite reading majorly mixed reviews.

Positives - The rock n' play was very easy to assemble.  I think it took me maybe 5 minutes, super simple.  Its pretty cute and looks nice and cozy, which it was Winston loved it.  Its compact, very easy to put away for storage purposes or maybe travel if you are traveling by car.  I wouldn't say that its practical for packing for a trip in which you would fly though.

Negatives - Flat head syndrome, which is what so many people complain about with this thing.  I really believed I would be exempt from this but unfortunately if you are using this as a bassinet it will happen.  Luckily Winston's didn't seem to get too bad, at least his doctor never seemed too concerned but I was.  It is really hard to break the habit of having a baby sleep where they are comfortable, you just want sleep and you do what works and for us it was this but it was hurting Winston . Luckily he is in his crib now and within just a couple of months his head has taken on a normal shape.

Overall - I give this product a C.  If you are not going to use it as a bassinet regularly, this is probably a great product.  Maybe for just the occasional overnight trip, or just somewhere to put the baby while you are showering or getting things done around the house.  But I give it a C because so many babies have developed flat head from sleeping in here, and that I do NOT like.

Dream Stroller

The Stokke Scoot

Let me tell you why this is my dream stroller. First things first, this stroller is absolutely beautiful.  It is so dreamy to me, is that weird to call a stroller dreamy?  I just feel that when you have a baby you spend so much time with your stroller.  I use it for everything , anytime we are out and about.  I currently have the 2013 britax b agile stroller, which I will do a review on, but if I could afford it I would drop the $500 on this stroller in a heartbeat.  I drive a VW Beetle and in order to fit my stroller in the trunk I have to take the wheels off and it is quite hard to fit in there.  This stroller is known for being comfortable, convenient and best of all compact! The three c's I look for in a stroller, and the 3 things I feel I don't really currently have.  Not to mention the seat faces both ways! How perfect is that.  I also love that it lays back so far, very convenient for diaper changing in places you may not be able to access a changing table.  Something my current stroller doesn't have that I lust after this one for.... STORAGE! Oh my gosh, I cant fit anything in the storage compartment of this stroller, but from reviews I have read about these guys you can fit everything in there.  I also love that the seat sits so high, I feel it lets baby connect with Mommy similar to when you use a travel system with the car seat attached.  Needless to say, this stroller has so many attributes that I so fondly desire to have in a stroller, but unfortunately at the moment I just cant fork out the $500 for it, one day I will though.  What a dream!
